The Fire Prevention Alliance is a coalition of various industries dedicated to fire prevention and safety in respective categories of bedding, cotton products, sleep products, furniture manufacturing and textiles. Organizations which form the FPA include:
  • American Home Furnishings Alliance
  • Center for the Polyurethanes Industry of the American Chemistry Council
  • National Council of Textiles Organizations
  • International Sleep Products Association
  • National Cotton Council
  • Polyurethane Foam Association
  • Sleep Products Safety Council
  • Upholstered Furniture Action Council

The alliance also partners with agencies that help to serve FPA audiences on varying levels, including:

  • U.S. Department of Health and Human Services
  • U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development
  • Public School Systems
  • Rural Churches
  • FPA Members

The FPA’s focus is low income and less educated adults and children who live in rural areas, minorities and the elderly. These groups have been largely underserved and overlooked by urban fire safety programs, leaving them most vulnerable to fire death.
